Over the years and across the nation this day of Independence has been a day of humongous joy for every Indian. There are no doubts as to this day was the most awaited day of Indian history. Among the early independent years the enthusiasm for this day was overwhelming. But as the time progressed, with the upcoming of new generations (the generations which are unaware of the struggle for freedom) there has been a decline of interest among the common people regarding its importance.
For most of us now this day is mere a holiday. We forget to identify the realm behind this day. Schools and our Armies seem to be only organizations celebrating this day. I understand in this busy scenario of today's world it’s really hard to try something out of box. But there still are ways to enhance your pleasure for your Independence.
1. For all those IT minds (like
me) who sit whole day long before staring endlessly at system, this day can be
a day to read about our glorious past, our heroic leaders, their brave efforts,
there incredible sacrifices and their never give-up zeal. Allow yourself to
browse through the biographies of legends like Tagore and Gandhi. This will not
only impart you knowledge but believe me it will also generate within you a
immense sense of pride.
2. For all those fun lovers who love to explore around, this can be a
day to visit some of our historical monuments related with our freedom or even
otherwise. The reign of British Empire was so widespread across India that you
can find such monuments almost in every part of country. All such locations
posses many antique masterpieces related that are bound to create an urge of
curiosity within you. Explore around and you will surely find a great feeling
of contentment.
3. For those Movie maniacs who can spend hours before screens, this
day can be a day to do apart from their usual stuffs and watch few great movies
depicting the Indian pre-independence days. They will tour you through what had
been the sufferings in that era, what were the conditions like and how actually
events occurred by. Such movies or documentaries develop within us the respect
for our country and its saviour as well.
4. For those who yearn for music, this day can be a nice opportunity
to listen to those great patriotic musical works which have been a source of
pride as well as motivation for our armies. Those melodious tunes which once
played takes us away into a world of patriotism and valour, a world where
nothing exceeds the love for nation, a world where families are left unsafe for
the safety of motherland and where sacrificing life for nation is considered to
be purest of the deeds. Such songs will give you the real sense of what being a
real citizen feels like.
Whatever you do and wherever you are, the
idea is to feel the significance of the day and to respect its true meaning.
Even if you can't do much, step out, try to join some flag hoist gathering or
attend some function at least watch the Tricolour reaching out for sky. At least
this much our nation deserves from us all.
Remember: Only when you will be aware of
its importance you will be able to enjoy it. And only if you enjoy it you will
pass it down to your generation.
Hope you consider...
Jai Hind..
I am very sorry to offend you but I don't see any good in this. Just remembering Independence day would not bring any worth to this country. what is worth is taking resolution on this day to spent some time of our life to bring the real independence of India, to eradicate evils from this society. Just listening music would not stop crime against women, untouchability and other social evils.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that Gandhi did not fought for Independence so that we would remember him in future. He fought for us, for poor, for the person standing last in the row, for those who cant even afford food to sustain their lives.
If you think India today is the nation what Gandhi had dreamt of, then watching movies, listening patriotic songs and visiting old monuments for amusement is good. If not! then its time to ACT!
Suprb thots frm you Rohit...bt you didn't actually get the point. As I said only when you will be aware of the importance of the day you can value it. So this was an effort to ask people to atleast know what the day really stands for. I hope u agree that 70% of todays younger generation has jst 10% of idea of freedom struggle or even less. So once they get the story behind then only we can expect them to ACT the way u suggested..
