Where is the B-Town heading to ??

Arrival of Salman starrer Kick and the way it has already knocked a sum of 150 crores, once again signalled that the B-town of India is still being ruled by the player rather than the play itself.

A new trend that is ruling our markets is One Man Show of our lead actors especially the three Khans of Bollywood. With their presence on the screen there is almost no scope for anyone else to mark their presence. The essence of Indian Cinema is no more reflected in what it currently delivers. The contents of movies like Kick are nothing less than a chaos presented for audience. No doubts such movies beat the money well but at the same time their success further diminishes the chances of getting some masterpieces in future.

Apart from that from the last few years we have evidently witnessed the crisis of an original screenplay in Bollywood industry. Leading Indian directors and producers have opted to march down the country in search of a story that is available for sale. The thing that should really worry us is till when this trend of copying and paste will be followed. Why don’t our producers rely on our writers to produce something that could account for some real (at least original) entertainment. It’s really hard to believe that we are facing such a girth of original scripts.

I don’t have in personal anything against any movie actor or director, but being a true fan of Indian Cinema all I want is to cherish the same love that has been created since years, all I want is that Indian Cinema should reach heights and that is only possible if the Thinktanks of industry shall stop going after the readymade masala and will prepare an original recipe.

Have your say..
