Amidst much
fanfare Apple on Tuesday 9, 2014 released its two all new Smartphone iPhone 6
and iPhone 6 plus (which was followed by Apple iWatch on Wednesday). The
release was equally welcomed by Apple fans as usual. While the official sale for both the phones
started on Tuesday itself, the huge Apple phone following in India is still
waiting for its official release in the country.
So here is
the news as declared by tech giant’s Indian website that both the phones will
be available in India from 17 October, 2014. Apple seems to utilise the huge Indian festive
season, so the gadget will be made available just before the most awaited
Indian festival Deepawali to make the most out of its audience.
The slick features of iPhone speak for themselves |
While we
still have to wait for making an official Indian purchase, let’s see some cool
features of this new Apple gadget:
1. Both smartphones will run on Apple's
latest operating software, the iOS 8.
2. Both smartphones come with 'Retina
HD' displays and ion- strengthened glass.
3. While the iPhone 6 supports a 4.7
inch screen, the Plus version will come with a even larger 5.5 inch display.
4. The iPhone 6 is 6.8mm thin and the
iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1mm thin.
5. Both iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will
run on Apple's A8 64 bit chip.
6. This new chip is 13% smaller than
the A7 and thus is expected to translate into 20% faster CPU and 50% faster
graphics.
7. Apple claims that iPhone 6 Plus has
24 hours of 3G talk time, while the iPhone 6 is said to have 14 hours of 3G
talk time.
8. Both these phones have an 8MP camera
with 'True-tone flash' with 1.5 micron pixels resolution. The cameras have an
iSight sensor.
9. The iPhone 6 has 'digital' image
stabilization, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus has optical image stabilization. With
these new cameras, panoramas can be up to 43 megapixels.
10. The face detection and smile/blink
detection is said to be enhanced too.
In the word
of Apple itself:
‘iPhone 6
isn’t simply bigger — it’s better in every way. Larger, yet dramatically
thinner. More powerful, but remarkably power efficient. With a smooth metal
surface that seamlessly meets the new Retina HD display. It’s one continuous
form where hardware and software function in perfect unison, creating a new
generation of iPhone that’s better by any measure.’
Well, since
the official Indian release date is out and there is not a much wait ahead, nearly
next 40 days to go, it’s time to explore out all the pros and cons of the
device before you make it all yours.
